GRRR, saw part of todays 'report' with Ann Widdecombe MP attacking
cyclists, the www.gm.tv has a biased piece to support their prog, 2
wheeled menace indeed.

Shows their ignorance as they refer to the highway code as law,
neatly omitting rule 51 which says do not ride more than 2 abreast.

Ergo, you can ride 2 abreast and will car drivers please stop blowing
their horns whne we do on quiet roads.

Call to arms or what?

I saw about 10 seconds of Doris doing her usual ranting and switched off -
literally. It was at the bit where she said words to the effect that when
motorists break the law they are actively prosectuted but cyclists are not.
She gave the example of when motorists jump red lights and when cyclists
jump red lights. *Neither* should do it, and Doris's ranting of effectively
the poor put-upon motorist makes me want to puke. She, as well as too many
petrol-headed tosspots seem to view cyclists as non-motorists, as if we are
some sort of separate species of sub-human, when a lot of us drive too...
And why, of why... when they get 'a cyclist' in, does said cyclist have to
resemble Swampy the eco-terrorist!!! BAH!!!!

Cheers, helen s

Unlikely to be Bob, he wasn't sporting such attire in his Arrivee
picture !!!

What really got me (and I had to leave the house when she said it!) was

"OK, so a few motorists might occaisionally jump red lights but all
cyclists do it"

Well, I saw a bus and seven cars go through red lights at least three
seconds into the red this morning and one cyclist who slowed, looked
and sidled through safely (he wasn't splatted anyway).

If he doesn't have dreadlocks & fungus sprouting out of his chin, it may
because he looks to normal to be a cyclist... because as we all know, and as
is stated on the GMTV web site at

http://www.gm.tv/index.cfm?articleid=17902

"cyclists are causing a storm"
and are "two-wheeled menaces"
