I was wondering if anyone imports and sells the Phoenix Bicycle here in the
USA or not.
They have some photos of it here http://www.bikechina.com/p-phoenix.html
I suppose it is a possibility but maybe if the shipping and handling isn't
too exhorbitant maybe from a overseas seller.
Anyway it seems to be sold almost everywhere throughout Asia and Africa.
Thanks

A quick Google brought up a dead website:

http://www.phoenix-bicycle.com/

A review of a cached version of the page leads me to believe that they
MAY have done US sales at one point. I did, however, find this
contact address for them, if you care to inquire directly. This
e-mail address may or may not still be alive:

Americans loved the "bubble" finish because it made carbon weave look
totally old fashioned. But technology fatigue had set in due to the
long series of innovations. Alas, the market could not accept the
upgrade to rod brakes.

I've got a '73 Raleigh Tourist, which is what all of those Asian
roadsters are copying. Brakes are terrible, but other than that--a
stupendous bike for utility cycling.

If I could pick up Phoenix or Flying Pigeon for a $100 or so, I'd
probably get two or three to use as loaners.

you even think about riding them.

Yellow Jersey sells a version I believe. ;)

Thanks all for your input.
I figured since they sell jillions of those things, the bearings can't be
too bad. But checking them out is worth it anyway though.
Unfortunately, it seems that here in the USA the faux mountain bike look is
what sells. So the regular bikes aren't popular with the dealers or stores.

The Flying Pigeon was being sold by momovelo.com, but they are out of
business.

The basic Phoenix (Feng Huang) isn't all that popular anymore, they are
now building a lot more newer styles.

Phoenix was selling some folding bicycles in Sport Mart a few years ago.
