If Santa missed bringing you the bike you wanted, or if he brought you money
and told you to get something you really wanted, or if you are just looking
for a great frameset to build up and enjoy in 2006, here is your chance to
get to get a beautiful frame and fork. This Rossin has never been ridden or
even built up, as it is new old stock. I bought it from a bike shop when
they were closing out their Rossin line of high-end framesets.

This beautiful fully-lugged Rossin measures 54cm from the center of the
bottom bracket to the center of the seat tube, or 55cm from the center of
the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube, with a 55cm top tube. The
frame has a very pretty inkwell blue metallic paint scheme with contrasting
bright white decals on the down tube, seat tube, left chain stay, and head
tube. The 1' threaded fork is a matching bright white with inkwell blue
Rossin decals on the fork legs. The right chain stay and rear dropouts are
chromed.

There are two sets of water bottle bosses, a braze-on front derailleur tab,
down tube shifter bosses, and the rear brake cable is internally routed
through the top tube. The rear dropouts are semi-vertical (adjusting screws
not included). The rear spacing on the dropouts is 130mm and the head tube
is 133mm in length. The steel frame is fully lugged, with the Rossin "R" cut
out of the lower head tube lug. The head tube lugs also have a fancy curl on
part of them, making for a very nice touch. The decal on the bottom of the
seat tube says "Handmade by Rossin Italy The Dupont System".

The tubing is Columbus Neuron, one of the finest steels offered by Columbus
and designed exclusively for bicycle frames. Neuron tubing is one of the
tubesets in the Columbus Nivacrom steel family. Columbus Nivacrom gets its
strength not from heat-treatment, but from special composition. Niobium and
vanadium are alloyed with the other elements to produce a high strength and
dependable steel. The different shapes and butting profiles make for a
strong, yet light, steel frameset. I don't have scales to weigh the frame,
but it feels considerably lighter than my vintage Tommasini frameset.

This bike was new old stock with a very small paint chip or two from being
displayed in the bike shop that have been touched up and may not even be
able to be seen. The Columbus Neuron decal at the top of the seat tube is
crinkled on both sides. I chased the threads on the bottom bracket shell in
preparation for it being built up and an Italian bottom bracket spins right
in by hand. The frame and fork have been completely treated inside the tubes
with Boeshield T-9 rust prevention spray. This frame and fork are ready to
build up and ride!
