Saint Pete is at least a couple hundred miles from Jax, on the other
side of Florida.

While in Saint Pete check out Jack Kerouac's house there, the place he
died in...

I stayed here for a company conference once.

Nice golf course.

Near St. Pete.

We took a day trip to Epcot.
Florida is boring RE scenery, but makes good
golf courses... :)

If you saw a worm farmer on the sidewalk

Back in the early 1990s I spent a /lot/ of time in the
SP-Clearlwater-Largo megaopolis, when Katherine's sister lived in
Tarpon Springs,,, some great used book-record-comix shops [found the
only copy of David Blue's "Nice Baby & The Angel" album ever in a Largo
shop!] and small but nice and long lasting memories of places like
Molly Goodhead Pub [decent open mics back then there], the beach less
than a mile from the house, and a cool old mom-n-pop hamburger shop
called Archie's, with an obvious copyright infringement painting of
Archie from the comix painted on the side of the building... and so
on...

The country is very similar to here, except the dirt roads are solid
/white/ rather than bright red clay.

I'm quite familar with the St.Pete/Clearwater/Largo area... I remember
seeing some great concerts at Janus Landing.

Saint Augustine's my personal favorite place in Florida
<http://fcit.usf.edu/florida/3d/staugbuild/photos/staugbuild34.jpg>,
worked as a pirate there in the historical "role place" Spanish village
<http://p.vtourist.com/1/2161992-Colonial_Spanish_Quarter-Saint_Augustine.jpg>
on Saint George Street back in 1997.

That is up on the east coast.

Here is Key West. It was fun flying out of
that airport for an aerobatic ride. There is a /real/
hot dog with a Pitts bi-plane... :)

I spent some time in Key West in the early 1960s, when my Uncle
Clarence was a travelling Methodist minister, he did a tour of duty
down there.

This was around the time of the Cuban problems, which made the trip
more thrilling, as my grandmother kept whispering about bombs and
stuff, and how we'd have to drive across a /Seven Mile Bridge/ to get
to Key West. I was reading Tomahawk comix, my big interest of the time,

and had visions of Redcoats blocking the bridge on both sides after we
began crossing it, and wondering if my dad and grandfather could take
'em down...
