Purchased a Sears Fan Excersize bike a while ago" Pro-Form Whirlwind"
and within a month of use the main bering locked and Sears would not
make good.
So I purchased and installed the main bearings right and left side
(from Pro-Form).And again after a few short weeks it froze on me again.
I got rid of the bike.
My question is:Is this a chronicle problem to all Fan Excersize
Bikes?Or is there a make reasonably price that would give some years of
good service.
Any help would be appreciate it.

If you have a regular bicycle you can buy a stationary trainer and use
your bike indoors.

I'm curious to know what kind of BS excuse Sears used. Surely the warranty
was more than a month.

The Schwinn Airdyne has a 3 year parts/electronics warranty
(lifetime frame warranty.) I guess @ $799 "reasonably priced"
is subjective. The design gives more of a full-body workout;
some skiers seem to like it.

I've got one that's older than dirt. But it keeps on chugging. The
brand is Vitamaster. It was cheap, too. $99 - about 15 years ago, of
course.
I just have to tighten the chain and belt from time to time. Getting
the cowling off to do that is a real pain, so I didn't bother to put it
back on the last time I tightened everything up.
Lord knows how many miles on it. It has a calculator for speed, time,
distance, calories and total miles, but I never seem to notice the
total miles before the batteries die.
I like it because because of the upper body (shoulders and arms anyway)
workout you can get on the thing. You can pedal, use the handles or
both.
It's louder than hell, though. Drives the mutt crazy. She leaves the
room whenever I get on it, even before I start pedaling. I close the
door and the wifey says it doesn't bother her, even at 5 AM.
I have ear phones with an eight foot wire so I can watch DVDs or TV
while I use it. Extremely boring, otherwise.
Whatever works, right.
