For pickup only in Syracuse NY area. An oldie, 20+ years and been in
storage most of that time. Wanted to donate it to a charity but because of
the age it surely needs new tires and tubes as well as a "tune up" so I'd
rather it go to someone who could take care of these items. Other than
that, it is in very good condition with only some scratches - no rust or
dents.

Thanks
John

There's a big difference between "20+ years" and "30 years" Is it a
"Raleigh USA" or is it "Nottingham, England" on the Head Badge?

By the "HEAD BADGE" I'm assuming you are referring to the name on the tube
that the handlebars mount in? It says simply "THE RALEIGH". I looked for
any other names on the bike and here is what I found:

Gears - Simplex
Brakes - WEINMANN 610 / VAINOUEUR 999
Downtube just above pedal crank - "MANUFACTURED UNDER LICENCE BY GAZELLE
R'JWIELFABRIEK HOLLAND RALEIGH COMPANY"
The frame is dark blue

I bought it new but don't remember when - could have been as long ago as 30
years but I don't think so.

Are you interested?

RIJWIELFABRIEK (bicycle factory).

Gazelle made pretty decent bikes, back then, but not really anything too
special, though, I think (and I'm not going to be able to pick it up where
you are, wrong continent).

I used to rock one of these as my winter bike... Works fine - I put an
alloy wheel in front so I could stop in the wet, and other than the
cranks falling apart at one point, it acquitted itself well... If I was
in Syracuse, I'd definitely be interested. By the way - tires usually
last much longer than they look like they should.
