Cast your vote for a bicycle. The Sideways Bike.

The Sideways Bike is a childrens play bicycle with independent front
and rear steering.
Certainly not everybodys cup of tea; but still a bicycle.

The Sideways Bike was featured on a UK Invention Search program (Sky
One, The Big Idea) on Saturday. The Bike progressed as far as the
Wildcard Pool.
Anybody can now vote online at

www.thebigidea.tv (Bottom Right Corner "Wildcard Voting")

Vote for a Bicycle (Even a Sideways Bicycle) !!!

The bike you speak of from the seventies was called the Swing Bike.
The front steering was as on a normal bicycle, controlled by the riders
hands.
The seat, rear wheel and crank pivots under cotrol of your backside.

The Sideways Bike has two independently steerable wheels which are
steered by the riders left and right hand respectively. The Right hand
steers the front wheel. The Left hand steers the rear wheel. The rider
sits on a saddle that does not pivot.
