I have a Campy Record triple crank with 30/42/53 chainrings. I see
that there is a Campy Record triple that comes with 30/40/50
chainrings. If I were to get one of the 40 tooth chainring and put it
on my crank, would this work?

Thanks,
Ted

yep, the shift from the small to the middle, middle to the big may be a little
more sluggish, particularluy with pedal load, but it'll work.

It will work perfectly if you put a Dura Ace triple front derailleur
on. That derailleur is very specific to 53/39/30. I bought one for
my tandem, 52/42/30 and needed to change the 52 to a 53 so that the
derailleur could get high enought to not tick the 42. I didn't use
the unit but do have it for sale. I can ship it to you and if it is
not perfect, you can send back. You won't even have to buy a ramped
40 to get great shifting. A 39 will be easier to find.
