View Full Version : 1/8th Chainring in 110 PCD?

I'd like to put a single 1/8th chainring onto the MTB which currently
has a PCD of 110mm. Not having much luck tracking one down - the
1/8th rings at ChickenCycles only seem to go down to 130mm.

Are a new set of cranks required?

Many thanks,

Duncan

I may be missing something here, but what's to stop you usinga 3/32 ring
with a 1/8 chain?

Just use a decent-quality 3/32" ring - it will run fine and shouldn't
wear much quicker.

I run a downhill MTB ring with my 1/8 chain, they are quite thick with
deep teeth, as they are designed for single-ring setups. LBS had quite
a selection in stock in all bolt sizes.

Get a chainring made without shifting ramps and
cut down teeth - taller teeth, chain stays on. There
are BMX chainrings made for 110mm BCD. These
may or may not be available in 1/8", but either way
they'll work for single speed.
