View Full Version : Finish line degreaser

I've got a large canister of finish line degreaser and I cannot open
the soppy thing. It has a white plastic cap with a pair of tabs that
appear to interface with similar tabs on the plastic base of the top.
But all that happens is the whole thing rotates. How is it supposed to
open? Are the white tabs intended to peel back? I'm reluctant to
destroy the top but do want into it. Wish I'd bought my usual make
now.

I'd say turn the white top clockwise whilst holding the top base
stationary. But that is just a guess.

Yes, me too but there's not enough of the base exposed to get a grip
on it. I'm wondering if the top is faulty and it's intended that the
base is normally fixed in position. I guess I'll have to break it to
get it open. Ho hum.

Squash the cap with thumb and finger at 90 degrees to the cap tabs, so
that the tabs open out and slide past the others as you turn it?

Yes, that looks like the right way to do it but the base still rotates
no matter how hard I try to grip it. I think it must be broken and
I'll just cut it off.

Thanks for all the suggestions though.

Bought some of that myself earlier. Took me a couple of seconds but
basically you need to push the cap tabs in so they can squeeze past
the tab stoppers. I'd just cut the tabs off with a stanley knife, I'd
say.

Cheers

Squeeze them in... you know, I *thought* I'd tried that. I'm a muppet.

LOL, at least I have the excuse that I didn't have can to hand and was
just guessing .. ;)
