View Full Version : Opinion on Spinergy XycloneD not freewheeling!

Hi all.

I am having an issue with the freewheel body dragging on my 1 year old
XycloneD rear. I have already lost two weeks on this issue, because of
the muppets at Evans cycles; they replaced the freewheel body, charged
me £75 and gave the bike back with exactly the same issue.

Needless to say I was not pleased. I have spoken to Spinergy in the US
(via email) and they have diagnosed a worn axle, based on my
description.... however the wheels are only 1 year old and have had
light usage

When I back off the endcap it frees up the freewheel body. It appears
to have some kind of fancy seals that are causing the binding or extra
friction. Think I would rather have a nice standard xtr hub / freewheel
at this point.

Has anyone had this happen to them and if so what was the solution?

Cheers
Steve

Steve,
I had exactly the same problem with a pair of Spinergy Xaero-lites.
However, when my LBS contacted Spinergy, they were advised to remove the
dust seal from the rear hub. It's a blue rubber ring-type thingie. Problem
solved.
