Dumbass -

Carbon doesn't necessarily make you go faster. Expensive **** makes you go
faster. The only reason carbon makes you go faster right now is because it's
expensive. If, however, the price of carbon goodies drops, then it won't
make you fast anymore. Then us Fatties will have to buy something else
(expensive).

I seem to remember during the early days of carbon frames (mid-late
1980s?) that there was a pileup during a crit or rr at the Tour de Moore
(if memory serves) after which half of the field was treated at the
local hospital to have graphite splinters pulled out of their naughty bits.
