"A Gloucester cyclist has released video footage of an apparent road rage incident while being overtaken on Barnwood Road. The cyclist, Alwin Wiederhold, was wearing a helmet camera which recorded the exchange between the driver and himself.

The driver appears to beep behind the cyclist as he attempts to overtake on a narrow stretch of road. As the driver overtakes the cyclist, the words "I'll smash your head in," as well as swearing are heard.

The incident has been reported to the police.

"...reported to the police".

Even the police deserve a good laugh.

What does this say about our society?
Using a motor vehicle as a weapon and threatening to kill someone is such a common everyday occurrence that it is considered a joke.

Is that the same as wishing death by cancer on others and urging assault
with metal bars (and even firearms)?

I don't recall your criticism of people doing those things.

Perhaps you could remind us of when you disagreed with it.

"Police are investigating.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "Officers are due to review the footage.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 337 of February 29."

NOTE THIS CASE BELOW.
"Lomas was fined £250 and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge as well as costs of £300 after pleading guilty to the offence of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress"

You seem to have singularly avoided the point.

What *was* the PP's "point"?

It looked as though he had asked a question rather than making a point.
