The inquest was told that grandfather Patrick McDonough, 59, was
descending the 526m summit at around 34mph, with a mark made by his shoe
on the road suggesting he had tried to stop in a hurry.

Don't bicycles have brakes these days?

A bit young but there are plenty of worse places and ways to finish.

Nobody else was responsible and he took nobody with him. Unlike some of the
other 8 people killed by motor vehicles that day and *every* day.
