I'm just speechless. I'm exhausted.
The crash, the wait, (payback for two years ago)
The acknowledgement of the Yellow Jersey only taking a stage win from
someone if it is absolutely necessary.
Jan's determined damage limitation at the end.
I could watch that over and over again.

When was the last time that the tour could be won or lost on the Champs?
Could it happen this time?

1989 Lemond & Fignon. 8 secs between winner & runner-up. Now *that* was a Tour!

Absolutely fantastic!

Just got a funny text from my mate after seeing LA unclip..."good job he
only has one ball otherwise that would have hurt!"

Hey, ya gotta laugh...I reckon he would.

Who's going to hurt more tomorrow is the question I am asking myself.
Lance has probably just burned up adrenalin from the crash, and Ullrich
didn't really like almost stopping and starting up again. I'm giving up
predicting whats going to happen next. I need a rest day!

Yes, but that was a TT - the final TT is on Saturday this year. Could
it be that the Ullrich lunge to gain the 8 sec for third today is what
wins it on Saturday?

Could it be a sprint finish on Sunday with Armstrong and Ullrich fighting it
out with McKewen and Cooke on the line for the sprint time bonuses?

God damd ITV2!

I was around at my Dad's place to watch the hour evening show when the
OnDigital signal decided it was going to give up the ghost and I spent the
best part of the hour trying to find a clear UHF channel and then retuning
the channels!!!

I'll be taping the show overnight but as I am off to France first thing in
the morning I doubt I'll be able to watch it until my return next Monday.

If Ullrich can make on on the TT what he lost on the mountains, assuming he
doesn't lose significantly more time tomorrow.
The 2 remaining flat stages shouldn't give advantage to either Armstrong or
Ullrich.

What do you think?

That's possible, so theoretically it could be won or lost on the last
stage. However, no matter how close they are after Saturday that's the
way it will stay.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if Ullrich got away from Armstrong on the last
mountain stage tomorrow. There are two first cat climbs after all. Maybe
Botero and some other strong riders will get away early and give Ullrich
a springboard off the last big climb. Armstrong's team would have to
organise the chase and ........

Did anyone actually /record/ this stage (Eurosport coverage,
whole day) ? By some stupidity, I stayed one extra night
in the New Forest, completely forgetting the Tourmalet (sp)
on Monday, and missed the entire day's ride modulo the 55-min
run-through by ITV early the next morning. If anyone /does/
have the entire stage on tape, I'd really be grateful if
I could borrow it. I can offer virtually every other day
in return, full Eurosport coverage.
