Hi,

How much would you value the following bike at?

7005 Aluminium Barracuda Azzurri equipped with Shimano Sora with Flight Deck
controls, 16 gears. It looks in good condition and has only been used for
300 miles.

In case you hadn't guessed I am new to road bikes and do not want to be
short changed.

Also do you recommend this as a good bike to get started with?

TIA, Steven

a) Does it fit you? if not, forget it.

b) Try offering £200-£250. The equivalent Dawes is £400 new, and road
bikes depreciate *nearly* as fast as French executive cars.

c) The more expensive bikes have 9 speed rear cassettes instead of 8,
and the oily bits should last longer. Personally I'd have 105 as a
minimum, but you're looking at quite a lot more money. There are some
amazing bargains in the back of Cycling Plus though.

That bike is £300 new, so £100 - £125?

Why not? Sora's reliable if properly adjusted.

Dunno whether I'd 'recommend' one, having never ridden one, but they look
reasonable for the price .. ;)
