View Full Version : How do I get the Wheel Off?

Anyone know how to remove the back wheel on my new bike with its fancy
Inter-8 hub gears and roller brakes? While the Halfords manual
helpfully tells me to wear a hat and ride as close to the edge of the
road as possible, it fails to give any instructions for wheel removal
with this set up.

I may not be riding as far as I used to but one old habit is hard to
die; always practice puncture repair in the comfort of my study with
all new bikes.

Lesson two. How to repair a puncture without removing the wheel.

Unfortunately this means patching the tube in-situ rather than swapping the
tube.

Lesson 3. removing the wheel

JPGs of the wheel?
I've done wheels with drum or coaster brakes and hub gears. Without seeing
pictures it is hard to give useful comment.

Bingo. I'd found the former URL but it wasn't telling me what I
wanted. This one does.

I'll try it tomorrow. A test of my mono-dexterity as much as a test of
the bike.
