OK. I really sucked on today's ride at Wissahickon and Belmont Plateau.
Don't know why, but it was a rough one. The goal was to ride some of
Wiss and then cross over to the other part of Fairmont Park. In JAR
fashion we started out with a murderous climb. Andrea was leading the
ride and I think she was trying to kill me. The trails were mostly
frozen and fast, when I could actually muster enough energy to pedal.

I wasn't fond of the Blemont Plateau area. It just seemed like a long
way on a "road" to get to a trail that just wasn't that long or
thrilling. Add that to nearly breaking my leg when it got caught
between the riser and the top tube, and I just lost it all.

I took a whopping two photos. The first is of the famous witch's house.
Well that's what the local kids always think it is. It's actually the
remnants of an old railroad bridge. The second is the gorge the defunct
bridge would have spanned.

I also shot some new video of Wiss. The last one I did was more than a
year ago and I was not exactly fast. I'll have it up later this week.

OK, now the excuses of why I sucked today...

1. Coming off the Racer-X to the Id is a HUGE difference. It may be
six pounds but I just climb so much better on the Titus.

2. I have the video camera in the Camelback Hawg. That adds almost
eight pounds to my weight.

3. It was cold.

4. Did I mention it was cold?

5. I could say I just suck, but you already knew that. [:p]

So when are you going to pack up the family and move? I also forgot to
mention that I did nearly three hours of riding Wednesday afternoon, 25
miles, 23 of which were single track.

neener neener

then we came across a guy riding a custom frame size Ti racer x completely
decked out with top of the line components....pushing it up the hill (on the
other side of the hill we pushed our bikes up......and both ways are
rideable)

Gary (Rides like today (and Wednesday) make May through September
acceptable)

I'm still working on it. I need more info on how the personnel agency
biz is out there.

If I paid that much for a bike, you better damn well believe I would
ride that thing up the Matterhorn if I had too. You should of asked him
how much he wanted for it, he was probably ready to sell it.

That's what brought my wife's family here back in '76. Her dad tried to
start up an employment agency and buried himself but good. Of course he had
no experience in that line of work so it was a foolish move. Funny thing
about the whole experience was that my wife was expecting to see TeePee's as
she was coming from the Bronx. Silly Kid!

I think that market is pretty flooded here but I may be blowing smoke out my
wazoo, too. Why wouldn't you continue to do what you're doing?

I'm getting kind of tired with what I do. I've basically reached the
plateau where I am, and the only way up would be CIO in a large
commercial company. I doubt that's going to happen, especially in IT
challenged Arizona. My parents have been in the personnel/busness
consulting biz for years and now that my Dad has retired, I have been
trying to coax them out to AZ to start the biz. So, it's either that or
win the lottery.
