What was this?

A dog race or horse race or something?

you're kidding right?
bisbee is a great race with a rich history,
Lemond won it back in the 70's, it's in a cool hippy town in AZ,
and it's hard but not ridiculously hard.
anyway, that was a short uphill TT,
clinger or blickem will win. maybe stevic if he can
do flattish TT's.
There are great races in the western USA, 5 day races, with
mountain passes, not for your average crit monkey.

OK but these U.S. races with faux European race naming needs to stop.

"Tour de France" is French and is in France. Acceptable.

"Sea Otter Classic" is English and is in the U.S. Acceptable.

"La Vuelta de Bisbee" is a faux Spanish attempt at being a wannabe Vuelta.
It's weak and not acceptable. "Tour de Georgia" is not acceptable either.
"Tour of Arizona," "Bisbee Classic" and "Tour of Georgia" would be
acceptable names.

There's a hill on a road race course near Glasgow called "Col du Monster".

dude, put down the bong. this race is regional at best. i'm sure it's a
big deal to the locals and some socal amateurs but half the field is
cat 2s. it's not even in the same league as sea otter - which itself
doesn't always attract top teams.

anyway, here are the top 3o latest results going into sunday.

I wasn't comparing it to sea otter or any other races,
but it's a good race that's been around a long time - and
winners of bisbee include steve hegg, malcolm elliot, cezary zemana,
lemond,
and others - it used to be a bigger deal than it is now - it used to be
five days,
and all the pro teams would do it.
have you ever done it? Or are you an east coast crit monkey or
something,
who looks for crits with 20k prize lists so you can get gas money for
55th?
It's a fun race, like a mini- Tour of the Gila and really hard even
with an
amatuer field.
