Driver tells cyclist he can drive safely while using his phone thencrashes into car in front
Justice can be swift. This driver who was allegedly on his mobile phone
learned just how swift when he crashed into a car. Just moments earlier he had been in an argument with cyclist Dr Dave Brennan who recorded the entire episode on his helmet camera. He remonstrated with the motorist – who risks three points on his licence as well as a fine – telling him to put his phone down near Glasgow. But the man in the Mercedes insists it’s okay because he could drive safely while using his mobile phone. He then drove off but Dr Brennan was able to keep up with him because of queuing traffic. Dr Brennan told the Scotsman newspaper: ‘He’d complained I was previously cycling along at 3mph, so I smiled and waved as I went past, pointing out the fact he was the one now doing 3mph.’ ‘He then proceeded to accelerate forward as the traffic ahead of him stopped and he crashed into the car in front.’ It is not known if the driver had put his phone down. Dr Brennan offered the footage to the driver of the vehicle that was hit but they said they would settle it between them. https://metro.co.uk/2018/12/13/drive...9/?ito=cbshare -- Bod |
