Angry old man assaults lone female cyclist - there's a good photo of the coward though.

How do we know she wasn't on the road, or a maybe a shared path? there is a cycle lane, you don't get a shared path with a cycle lane next to it. If the pedestrian and the cyclist were both on the road, then it means the cyclist was at fault for crashing into a pedestrian. So the logical answer is that the cyclist was on the footway and crashed into a pedestrian, then of course she tries to blame any one other than herself. |

But the (deliberately?) vague description of her whereabouts immediately prior to the incident and the phrasing "..."she went into the road" (or words to that same effect), given that the colloquial terms for "footway" and "carriageway" are often used even when the correct ones would be better, makes it sound perhaps more likely than not. |
