(1)(d): the green signal shall indicate that vehicular traffic may
proceed beyond the stop line and proceed straight on or to the left or
to the right;
(2) Vehicular traffic proceeding beyond a stop line in accordance with
paragraph (1) shall proceed with due regard to the safety of other
road users and subject to any direction given by a constable in
uniform or a traffic warden or to any other applicable prohibition or
restriction.

So the most it can give is permission to proceed with due regard for
other road users.

Just like the "Give Way" sign.

The "Give Way" sign normally means that other traffic has priority.

A green light normally means that you have priority.

In neither case can you presume the right to drive into another road
user.

Not "just like", closer to "the diametric bleedin' opposite"!

Nothing in the TSRGD says that.
In fact it describes a situation quite clearly in which you do not -
"proceed straight on or to the left or to the right" does not give you
priority over oncoming traffic when turning right, so your assertion
is not only wrong, but dangerously wrong.

Even on a straight stretch of road without a junction, where traffic has
priority, or at a an ordinary priority junction (what you would "think"
of as a give-way junction between a major and a minor road), traffic
turning right does not have priority over traffic coming the other way.

And it gives no difference between the act of going straight on,
turning left, and turning right.
All a green light gives is a suspension of the prohibition on passing
the stop line. Nothing more.

Rubbish. There are all sorts of traffic light junctions, some of which
allow turning traffic priority over oncoming traffic.
