Those of us who have been on the receiving end of the aggression meted out
by the followers of the woolly-haired w@nker have known for some time...

No it's not OT. Any of us who have suffered from aggressive motorists as
discussed time and time again on the newsgroup, know it's not OT. Of course,
you may be on an entirely different planet where you never suffer from such
misfortune or have the anti-cyclist rantings of the presneter of said
programme published where he has threatened to run over cyclists.

Cheers, helen s

Puts on Michael Winner Hat"Calm down dear, it's only an article"/Hat

It's off topic for this group, but interesting nonetheless. It's proper
place to discuss *on*-topic would be the driving group. This doesn't stop it
being discussed here off-topic though.

Anyway, my point of view ... you can blame whatever you like (Heavy Metal &
horror films for murder etc), but it's the individual who finally makes the
decision. So, these are just excuses and not reasons.

If someone runs me over on my bike, I'm not going to start burning copies of
insert motoring mag here.

So what?

From the same article

"Top Gear, presented by Jeremy Clarkson, always put safety at the top of its
list."
"'Top Gear always observes stringent safety guidelines with regard to speed
when it test drives any vehicle - whether it is on its test track or
elsewhere,'"

"Speed and aggressive driving is never glorified on the programme."

Or, how about a bit of balance....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/healthmain.html?in_article_id=364433&in_page_id=17 74&in_a_source=

or, better still,

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...le_id=390 359

BTW - i'm out of hospital yesterday, row of staples up my left arm looks
like a zip, ironmongery inside holding upper arm bone bits together. So
won't be riding my bike for a while....

Because it's the people who glorify driving too fast and generally
being an arse that are the ones who are on national TV?

ITYM reasons, not excuses. They are a cause of the behaviour but do not
excuse the behaviour..
