*The more
responsible cyclists are seen to be riding, the more "normal" it will
appear.

And you hear children crying everywhere you go, but still insist
that's not "normal"; it just means their parents are uncivilized.

That is also correct. *It wasn't normal 10 or 20 years ago. *Parents
have become very lax in discipline and/or courtesy (e.g. removing an
uncontrollable child from a public place.)

"... KEEP YOUR GODDAMNED BRATS UNDER CONTROL. *Once
upon a time, it used to be considered rude to let a kid yell in public
for more than about, oh, three seconds before yanking him/her out of
wherever you were and out to the car or whatever (usually for
disciplinary measures for being an embarassing little ****.) *I miss
those days.

Nate, you clearly seem to be expressing some strong anger and
hostility *at the children* here (the "GODDAMNED BRATS" and "little
****"). *Makes me wonder what kind of "disciplinary measures" you'd
have in mind after "yanking him/her out... to the car".

No, I'm expressing hostility at the rude parents who would rather
subject the public at large to their rudeness rather than teach one
child some manners.

You repeatedly refer to *the children* as "GODDAMNED BRATS", "little
****", and "screaming crotchfruit". *I can't paint any more vehement
hostility on that.

And they are that way because of their ****ed up, indifferent
parents. It's not their fault, that doesn't mean I have any respect
for them or like being around them.

BTW, people don't control other people - *especially* children.

Yeah, I've noticed. *That's a shame, and there's no need to make
excuses for it.

If what you have in mind is the usual control through fear of pain -
physical or otherwise - that's just plain wrong - and probably the
root of 99.9% of everything that's ****ed up in this world.- Hide quoted text -

Where did I ever say that? there's all sorts of non-painful feedback
mechanisms available to parents, both positive and negative.
