A pensioner needed surgery in hospital after being hit by a pavement
cyclist on a quiet residential estate. Cleveland Police say the victim was struck by a pedal bike at around 9.30am on Saturday in Marton. The 79-year-old man was walking on Captain Cook’s Crescent when he was knocked to the ground by a bicycle being ridden on the pavement.
