Cyclist jailed for 11 1/2 years for deliberately crippling a coupleof pedestrians

After seeing her and her new partner walk past the shop where he worked,
Gallon gave chase on his mountain bike and rode into them at speed as
they were walking along Esplanade Place.
Ms Blake was knocked unconscious and suffered serious head injuries.
Mr Nicholson, who was also knocked to the ground, was then punched and
stamped on by Gallon.

It's not just cyclists who are aggressive.

A lot of men can't control their anger.

1. Masculinity is associated with anger. When men's masculinity is
threatened, they react with increased anger.

At first, from the above, I wondered whether the cyclist was a store
detective and the victims were shoplifters.

But no...

A man who rode his bicycle into his ex-girlfriend and her new partner
has been jailed for 11-and-a-half years. Paul Gallon, 37, targeted the
pair in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, in November 2016. Holly Blake is
now registered disabled, while William Nicholson also suffered long-term
injuries.

Eleven and a half years? Phew...

Obviously no traffic offence, but a deliberate GBH (and lucky, from the
sound of it, not to be done for attempted murder).

It sounds as though your advice would be better aimed at Gallon.

If he'd used a car he would only have had to plead "momentary lapse".

He'd have had difficulty with that given his connections with his victims.
