I have seen lots of weird and wonderful(?) bike designs come and go,
but, really, for practically, nothing much has improved on the original
1890's Raleigh "safety" bicycle.

Of course present-day bikes are made of other materials and have other
additions, bu the basic design is the same.

Number 10 looks interesting.

Agreed, also the saddle looks far more comfy than a conventional one.

Adding to that, No 5 looks like it was designed for a deformed Alien.

For boulevards only. A riding position like that makes it extremely hard
to pedal on any kind on incline, even if it had a backrest.

Yes it looks awkward.

Starley's "Rover" is generally considered to be the original
(successful) safety bicycle.

And the basic design lives on --
It must be one of the most successful transport designs ever. For the
first time humans could travel faster than s/he could run or ride a horse.

I don't think the safety was as fast as the ordinary initially, it was
just a less hazardous way of going relatively fast, especially downhill.
