Interestingly (and leaving out all the *prosecution* stuff about the
contact actually occurring at the cyclist's instigation), the...

accident.’

Hmmm... "Accident".

That's a peculiar word for the prosecution to use, even given that the
prosecution has already presented evidence that the cyclist moved into
contact with the motor vehicle rather than it being the other way round.

How kind of Mr Baker to record his own alleged misdemeanour. If found guilty I hope he is sentenced to an appropriately long community service. 500 hours picking up litter and dog excrement from along the Regent's Canal tow/cycle path, for example.

I doubt that there was an intent to kill, which is required for attempted murder. (For murder an intent to cause serious harm is required).

At the bottom of the article it says that Baker, who, it seems, lives at 71 Pembury Avenue, KT4 8BU, denies dangerous driving. I wonder why he wasn't charged was assault causing actual bodily harm.
