The sooner Mike realizes MTBing is not a significant enviromental danger, and that all he wants is just to hike in peace, the sooner he can head for walking only tracks and enjoy his outdoor recreation time. You think Mike actually hikes? That's just a cover so that he doesn't look like a complete loser who spends all his time spamming newsgroups. He also has advocated that all hikers have to wear smooth-soled shoes, to minimize trail impact, rather than any sort of hiking boots. You guess at how much serious hiking he does, and on what sort of terrain, compared to other hikers. Ignorance can be overcome. Case in point - any thread involving posts from Mikey. But, on the whole, you are pouring sand down a very deep hole - Mikey is categorically opposed to data, particularly data which can be verified. I think it was Einstein who said that the only two things which are infinite are the Universe and stupidity, and he wasn't sure about the Universe. Mikey's bias is so severe, that he sees bias in anything which disagrees with his beliefs, which he keeps calling "the truth". He is trying to brainwash people by repeating the same things over and over to make them "true".
