So there I was approaching the junction, uncliped right foot, slowed down, and for some strange reason the bike (it couldn't possibly have been my fault :-) decided to tilt to the left. Somehow I managed to get my left foot unclipped as I was falling, and put it down to stop me hiting the ground, only to have the bloody plastic Look cleat go sliding away from me, planting me on teh floor in a very undignified heap :-( I'm sure I caused the motorist there much hilarity, but at least the motorcyclist asked me if I was Ok as I sheepishly got up off the deck.

No harm done, goodstuff...
Almost suffered the same fate at a set of traffic lights on the way
home....pulled up slightly, leaned to the left and put foot out, only for a
gust of wind to catch me and start to blow me to the right....where there
was a car waiting....and I weigh 15 stone, so must've been some gust.
Luckily, 'cos it was only a quick gust I managed to get it back to the
left....

I had a lucky escape yesterday. I slowed to let past a family of
cyclists at the entrance to a cycle track. The last one took their time
and I was trying (unsuccessfully) to track stand. I realised that to
maintain my balance would involved swinging the front wheel into the
lamppost and unclipped both feet and grabbed the lamppost. I didn't fall
over, but did manage to support my bodyweight with something rather
uncomfortable for a few seconds until I managed to get a foot on the
floor. Not my most dignified moment.
