Man arrested after argument at Old Town junction ends with cyclist oncar bonnet

QUOTE:
AN ARGUMENT between a cyclist and a driver in Old Town ended with the cyclist falling on the car's bonnet as the motorist tried to drive away.

A man in his 50s from Swindon was later arrested by police on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He has since been released from custody under investigation while officers continue their investigation into what happened.

The heated verbal exchange between a pedal cyclist and a Toyota Corolla driver happened around 6.20pm on Tuesday at the junction of Wood Street and Devizes Road.

The hurt cyclist - a man in his 30s - was checked over at the scene by an ambulance crew and did not suffer serious injury.

But he was said to be very shaken up.

Police are appealing for information about the road rage incident and want to hear from witnesses.

Anyone who saw the incident or can help in any other way should call 101.

The cyclist "fell" onto the car's bonnet after a verbal confrontation
and whilst the driver was sitting in the driving seat? How would that
happen?

Does sitting in the driving seat of a stationary vehicle count as
"dangerous driving" in Wiltshire?

Mind you, I have seen some peculiar driving around Warminster.

I assume his driving priviges have been suspended pending trial.
Attempted murder would be the charge if he had used any other sort of weapon and he would be held on remand.

It would seem that he tried to run over the cyclist, who landed on the bonnet and he subsequently tried to drive off with the cyclist still on the bonnet. Looks like attempted murder to me, like those 3 thugs driving a car who killed a policeman trailing behind them by a rope and got serious jailtime the other day.
