Wiggins hints at Team Sky switch
http://tinyurl.com/WigginsWigan Bradley Wiggins has hinted he may leave Garmin-Slipstream to join the new British-based squad Team Sky. Britain's three-time Olympic track champion was a surprise fourth in the 2009 Tour de France and says he must move if he is to better that next year. "It's like trying to win the Champions League - you need to be at Manchester United but I'm playing at Wigan at the moment so I have to make that step up." UD |

UD Yes I was going to post about that, er...last I checked "Team Sky" don't seem to have what it takes to support a TDF contender ? Looks like another "Leblanc moving to Le Groupement" disaster to me, at least on a sporting level. |

Totally useless, dunno what they were thinking... |

It does seem a bit disloyal doesn't it? His statement has had some effect as Wigan beat Chelski 3-1 at the weekend :-) UD |

I am thinking that Wiggins considers Garmin, for all its real success, to be a Micky Mouse outfit. -- Michael Press |

I am thinking that Wiggins considers Garmin, for all its real success, to be a Micky Mouse outfit. What does any of this have to do with a professional bicycle racer? Do you suppose one should take less money for his services for your weird idea of "loyalty"? Considerations should be the financial stability of the team, the ability of a team to be invited to the important races, the contract terms and the salary. Only when all of these terms are equal or nearly equal would any other terms be considered. |

Do you suppose one should take less money for his services for your weird idea of "loyalty"? Sorry. I cannot derive semantic content from this sentence, because of the prepositions and blind end pronouns. Considerations should be the financial stability of the team, the ability of a team to be invited to the important races, the contract terms and the salary. Only when all of these terms are equal or nearly equal would any other terms be considered. Absolutely dead on correct. -- Michael Press |
