Default CO2 Connectors - Threaded vs Unthreaded

Unthreaded CO2 cartridges are meant to be used in those devices that make carbonated water. I haven't seen a bicycle tire inflation tool that uses them. What's more, most of those fillers have a limited lifespan except for https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Innov...ateway&sr=8-14 The Chinese seem to be making a machined aluminum version but I can't see why.
