A cyclist came off his bike but then fled from the scene.

man from Bournemouth, Dorset, handed himself in on Saturday after the
accident in Poole. He was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous
bodily harm and released on bail."

An arrest on suspicion of causing GBH implies that the police have
reason to believe that the injuries were inflicted deliberately.

Causing GBH is certainly not the charge usually applied in cases of road
traffic accidents.

At least he was decent enough to surrender when he gave consideration to
what he'd done.

Or perhaps he just realised that he was going to be caught anyway due to
forensic left at the scene.
