Nevertheless, you have chosen a very peculiar user name. Earth Cycles was
a
very small manufacturer that hardly knew what they were doing half the
time.
Most members of this group will not know what you are talking about when
you
mention the Sunset and Earth Cycles.

I will have to educate those ignorant of the finer qualities of the
Earth Cycles Sunset Lowracer [TM], then.

Earth Cycles was a very prickly manufacturer located near St. Paul and
was
not liked by many in this state. I find your championing of this bike
manufacturer and his Sunset very strange.

I have only met Shean Bjoralt once, but I gained a rather different
impression that what Ed Dolan reputes. Other's have stated both
privately and public ally that they were saddened by the business
failure of Earth Cycles.

That man had no business sense at all. He over priced his bikes and would
not make himself available to his customers. But mostly, I do not like small
manufacturers no matter how precious they think themselves to be. RANS was
the best thing that ever happened to the recumbent world.

Once the bicycle leaves than manufacturer, its qualities are
independent of the manufacturer. Should we destroy all copies of
Wagner's musical scores because of his bigotry and numerous failings as
a person? Would that action benefit the human race in any way - or can
we appreciate something for its intrinsic value independent of its
creator?

I would never condemn Wagner as a composer, but that would not prevent me
from condemning him as a man. I always remember what the great conductor
Toscanini said about Richard Strauss who stayed in Germany and prospered in
the Third Reich. He said I take my hat off to the composer, but I put my hat
back on my head for the man. Like Toscanini, I can separate the art from the
man.

I miss Toscanini. I grew up listening to all his performances of the
standard symphonic repertoire and there is no one today who does it like he
did. His tempos were always just right and his orchestral balance and
dynamics were also just right. Those who think Bernstein was a great
conductor do not know what they are talking about. God, do I ever hate
conductors who take liberties with tempos.
