Not in your lifetime.

Not even in the lifetime of your children (if any).

You better tell Ford, Subaru, Lexus, Volvo etc. They need to know now.

New Ford Focus Hatchback:-
"As is Forward Alert, which warns of an impending crash, buzzing up a
visual and audible alert. It can even apply the brakes to help
minimise an impact."

No doubt an attractive proposition for the necessarily--highly-graded market
for "executive cars" in the fleet market. That's the way the regional sales
director will be able to rejoice in his rank-related upgrade over the
entitlements of mere sales directors.

Meanwhile, among the tens of millions of existing vehicles on Planet Earth,
and bearing in mind that a £9,000 SEAT or Citroen will never be equipped
(whether as OEM or retro-fitting) with that technology, get you head out of
the clouds, eh?

Oh, and the regional toilet hygiene director wants you on line 3.

Technology just isn't reliable enough for the risk of aberrant "emergency
braking" in the overtaking lane of the M1 to be risked.

So many pedestrians must die or be injured just because motorway
idiots can't keep it in their trousers

What?

and there is a minute chance of a technical failure?

"Minute chance(s) of technical failure" is/are the very stuff of every
vehicle recall there ever was.

Are speeding sales reps worth more than peds?

"Speeding"?

Who said anything about speeding?

I know that *you* did, but perhaps I shouild make my meaning clearer: "Who of
any importance said anything about speeding?".

Perhaps it can be turned off on motorways, so ****wits can kill each
other without involving decent people.

"Perhaps it can be turned off".

Bingo. There's yet hope that you might come to terms with reality.
