Well done to the police in nabbing the cowardly scum driver so soon
after his collision.

QUOTE: "A teenager has been detained by police in Paris and arrested
on suspicion of ***attempted murder*** (EMPHASIS MINE) after a
cyclist was left seriously injured following a hit-and-run on Mount
Pleasant.

Police launched a manhunt to find a driver who “failed to stop” after
colliding with a cyclist at the busy junction with Holderness Road on
Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives appealed for help from the public after the 43-year-old
man was left hurt and police have now confirmed that a 19-year-old
suspect has been apprehended in Paris after boarding a train to
France overnight."

END QUOTE Obviously more to come after he gets in front of the
courts.

He's bound to get something for failing to stop after the crash. What's
the betting that he will get nothing for the standard of his driving
before the crash?

He is wanted for "attempted murder", so there must be someone who witnessed him DELIBERATELY driving at the cyclist, rather than merely an accident.

Look up 'punishment pass' on Youtube. Many drivers think they are entitled to use their vehicles as weapons because cyclists were not behaving in the way motorists think cyclists should behave.

I have long advocated these drivers should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon or attempted murder but society classes it as 'just a motoring offence'.

The reason CDBDD was introduced was because juries were unwilling to convict motorists of manslaughter for a motoring offence.
