A team of community nurses in Dorset is using electric bikes to visit
their patients as part of an initiative to improve staff wellbeing,
patient engagement and the environment, one of the nurses leading the

Hattie Taylor, from Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust,
explained how riding an e-bike to patient’s homes has made the team more
“visible in the community” and has helped to change the public’s
perception of what community nursing is really like.

There used to be a district nurse living in the street where I was
brought up. She had a distinctive uniform (think "Miss Marple") and got
around on a bike to perform her duties (whatever they were).

Then, around 1958, she got a brand-new Austin A35 (or was it an A30?
They were very much the same).

I wonder whether she would have gone back to the bike?
