That's a crock. It may be unlikely, but it's clearly not impossible when

you
look at how many have won 5 in the last 50 years.



Don't forget Gino Bartali (winner '37-'38, '48).


Bartali only won two Tours ... 1938 and 1948. He abandoned the 1937 Tour a
day after crashing in the mountains.

Anquetil and Hinault did so
in a span of eight seasons, Indurain five, Merckx six.

Bartali's stretch was over twelve seasons.
