make mistakes are the ones who unfortunately pay a price.

The ones who don't make mistakes go on to improve, and their children
improve, and better, more agile, stronger, faster mountain bikers is the
result.

It's not pleasant but it has ever been thus, with some of the hunters
falling prey to the quarry and some improving to become better.

You can look forward to some pretty good mountain bikers in coming
generations!
