You see! Motorists do it too!

"Hey, while in London this evening, flashing blue lights drew my
attention to about 20 cars with Palestinian flags stuck on their
windows driving along the embankments tooting horns. Police went a bit
mental - can i just say to people stopped, you only have to tell cops
name, address, date of birth, after that NO COMMENT, i repeat NO
COMMENT. Nice one for getting this demo together."

Yes but was it organized?
Was it a demonstration?
Was it a procession?
Was it anything to do with this NG?

Tony Dragon gurgled happily, sounding much
like they were saying:

Was it deliberately obstructing as many other road users as possible?

I wonder how many of the demonstrators stopped their cars in the middle
of busy junctions, got out, and waved the cars above their heads?

Still, it's good to know that 20 protestors is now regarded as a
"critical mass"...

What, demonstrate with the intention of causing traffic delays?

Yes, sometimes, some of them do.

Rubbish.

The driver of a motor vehicle can also be required to produce or display a
current certificate of insurance, a driving licence, a vehicle registration
document, a road tax disc and a vehicle test certificate (where appropriate).
Failing to display or, as the case may be, to produce, any of these when
required is an offence.

Additionally, the driver may be questioned about his demeanour on the road
and about the origin and destination points of his journey. He may also be
required to listen to advice about his driving and behaviour. He may not
leave the scene until authorised to do so by the police officer concerned.
Passengers in the vehicle may also be required to identify themselves and
their presence in the vehicle explained.

How dare you have the audacity to quote the law verbatim to Doug?

He is not obliged to answer these questions.

Unless he has been arrested or detained, he may go on his way. (In
Scotland)

their presence in the vehicle explained.

They are not obliged to do identify themselves unless they are
supected of committing a crime or witnessing one.
They need not explain their presence in the vehicle either.

The incident in question *did* take place in London, didn't it?
