Default Essential tools to fix your bike

Marcus Coutain, the black youth recently in the news for being held down
with a knee of his head, has explained that he was carrying a knife to fix
his bike.

Can you fix a bike with a knife and no other tool? Just wondering.

Pass.

At a pinch, a knife could conceivably come in handy if the cyclist needs
quick cash for spares?

Mr Pounder carries a sharpened chisel to threaten teenagers on bikes, so it could be dual use as well.

Seems he's not posting here any more. He may have found another hobby.

Talking of hobbies, is a knife or other "bladed article" (in the absence
of any other tools) a useful implement in repairing bicycles out on the
road?

If so, the mind boggles. What would it be used for?
