At least four people are dead following an accident involving a
tractor and a group of cyclists in Bocholt near Peer in Limburg. A
further two people were reported being in a serious condition.
The farm tractor careered into the group of cyclists killing three on
the spot. A fourth victim passed away later. Two other cyclists were
badly injured. One person sustained light injuries.

The group of cyclists consisted of a dozen people aged between 65 and
75. "They were enjoying the first fine weather of the year" local
burgomaster Jean-Paul Peuskens told the VRT.

The tractor driver was blinded by the sun and is in a state of shock.
He too received assistance from the emergency services.

The medical disaster plan was implemented. The injured were treated in
Maaseik Hospital, while the fire brigade looked after the other
cyclists.
