If you are, you can take a copy of that report for the Scottish executive[1], in case anyone attempts to mislead the meeting with spurious claims that cars are anything other than a minority cause of bicycle casualties. It appears that pavements are a _much_ bigger culprit. Perhaps the campaign name, and cause, should be changed to "Pavement-Free London". Will there be plenty of free car-parking? Without it, the turnout will be much lower! [1] http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Resource/Doc/55971/0015830.pdf -- Matt B |

[1] http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Resource/Doc/55971/0015830.pdf I am pretty sure this is about serious 'accidents', aka 'crashes', mostly caused by being hit by a motor vehicle. Not, say, a cyclist narrowly missing a pensioner and falling of and grazing an arm. As your source says: "Thirty-four per cent of casualties were discharged from hospital on the same day without any need for follow up, and only 4% of casualties were admitted." -- UK Radical Campaigns www.zing.icom43.net A driving licence is a licence to kill. |
