And here's what LCC have to say about the redesign.http://lcc.org.uk/articles/london-cy...res-redesign-o...

Proof that direct action campaigning really works. Who knows, maybe
there will be a redesign of the Kings Cross junction soon following
the 'Bikes Alive' action?

I see they intend to retain the fatuous kerb in the middle of the
roundabout.

Do you mean the island around which the carriageway of the roundabout is
arranged?

If that wasn't there, the junction wouldn't be a roundabout. It would be a
free for all "plaza" (or pair of them).

Yes, people power in action.
Well done, lads.

The advance phase traffic lights, however, would be a welcome
innovation for London.

On the A20 in Lewisham there are dedicated bus lane lights; they are
only green when the main lane is red. Bus drivers and cyclists have a
choice: use the bus lane or the main lane. The system works well and
is perfectly safe as far as I can tell.

While perhaps not safer, I feel that TfL's plans for Bow are somewhat
more useful than LCC's concept:
http://lcc.org.uk/articles/lcc-publi...afety-failures

Al that mounting of footways and pressing buttons looks a nightmare,
especially if turning right.

Hey look... TfL are using the word "filter". I wonder what that word
could mean, as I am so think that I cannot work it out from the
context. Maybe I should email Bojo and see if he knows.

=====Quote=====
Additional dedicated cycle lanes on the east and westbound approaches
of the roundabout, allowing cyclists to approach the advance stop
lines at the junctions without the need to filter through traffic.
Advanced stop lines would also be made deeper on both approaches to
the roundabout, so there's a clear space for cyclists in front of any
traffic.
