Default NY cycling video

Now I like riding through heavy traffic, but this video scared me witless.
http://www.digave.com/videos/red-web.mpg (50MB, so only for broadband or,
ahem, people at work).

It's a bunch of guys racing through New York, interesting at the best of
times, but I defy you to watch it without pulling your shoulders in to make
yourself narrower or squeezing your hands on brakes that aren't there. I'll
not pass any judgement on what they're actually doing, but it looks bloody
scarey!

That's a great video, thanks for the link.

I think my favourite moment was the rider nonchalantly tapping the
front bucket on the digger as he passed, like he was patting a dragon
on the nose.

I was hoping they'd get knocked off and killed. Deserve it cycling like

Good soundtrack too! I was also impressed by the camera work -
anyone care to guess what kind of kit he had strapped to his
helmet?

Yes, this - http://www.digave.com/videos/how.htm

Scary moment towards the end when a couple of them ride up the
wrong side of a 3-lane road so they can make a faster left turn
across the traffic - yikes.

By then I'd reached the point where I wouldn't have been surprised if they
bunny hopped over the roof of a slow moving car!

jaywalking pedestrians too!

Thanks. There are some other videos and photos up there. His trailer is
interesting:

Have you seen the vid where they use a tandem to tow a rock
band (complete with generator and amps)? That thing looks
*heavy*!

Have heard of assertive riding but that takes the biscuit.

I rather like the bit at the end where the guy on the fixie "freewheels"
with his feet up.
