Liverpool cyclist counts "around 20" cars parked in pop-up cyclelane... over a stretch of just 0.2 miles
QUOTE:
The lengthy thread posted to Twitter by LiverpoolWanderer includes 17 photos with cars parked in a pop-up cycle lane on Kingsley Road in Liverpool. Among them there's one showing a number of cars packed together, a licenced taxi and vehicles belonging to Providor and Carter Synergy. LiverpoolWanderer told road.cc that shockingly, all the photos were taken on just a 0.2 mile stretch and around 20 cars were counted, rendering this part of the cycle lane completely unusable. As mention further down the page, it would seem there's plenty for Liverpool Council to get their teeth into if they want to start enforcement against parking in mandatory cycle lanes... https://road.cc/content/news/cycling...ne-2020-274747 |

It is actually quite wide. What lunatic decided that residents should be denied car-parking along one side of it? |

Many times you have spoken out about on street garaging and stated that motorists who wish to store their cars on a public road should be charged 'many thousands of pounds'. Roads are for Pedestrians, equestrians and cyclists to pass and re-pass. There is no right to park a motor vehicle. |

Yet again, you prove that you are quite deranged. That council lunacy has not been aimed at preventing parking spaces from being pre-empted by residents so that more are available for people with business in the area. It has been aimed at removing them altogether. Roads are for Pedestrians, equestrians and cyclists to pass and re-pass. There is no right to park a motor vehicle. Tell that to those who live in that area. |

I wonder what counts as "unavoidable"? I dare say that there are many differing views on that. |

If the former I will be forced to bring up the time you claimed roads with the word 'walk' in their name could only be used by pedestrians. And then there is the whole 'trains should have to stop at level crossing until the driver operates a manual device' thing. Actually forget it, I am not interested. We have moved to Lismore NSW which is about as far away from Scallyville as you can get AND the accent is more understandable. |
