I can't find a cycling shoes to fit wide feet!
All
I've got wide feet and I can't find any shoes to fit. I tried on Shimano and Diadora yesterday both too narrow and guy in the shop reckons it's going to be a hard job to find shoes that fit. I've got 11.5/12.0 size feet and it's a right pain when cycling as the base of the foot hurts and I have to unclip from my time ATAC's and pedal using the middle of the foot. Thanks Gareth |

Sid Dominator Mega (note the extra 'mega") are the widest I have found. Quite hard to find, as they are stocked by few dealers, but if you can try them, you'll find they are good, though go one size larger than normal, I bought mine via ebay, and went for a 44, which fit well, my normal shoe is 9.5/10, so the sizing is maybe slightly small on the Sidis. Around £100, but I think they are worth it, good quality, and most of all, they fit without squeezing my foot. Alan. -- To reply by e-mail, change the ' + ' to 'plus'. |

Shimano shoes are well known to be narrow except their spd sandals. If you have wide feet don't buy anything with a poncy "tensioning
system", no matter how cool it looks, because they generally leave the front of the shoe at a standard width. Stick with laces. I have wide size 10.5 feet. I have a pair of Shimano M020's with SPD's with the laces nice & loose at the front of the foot, & they're fine. The out of the box lacing crushed my foot as you describe. You won't want that shoe if you've got ATACs but you get the point about laces. Phil |

I bought Sidi Dominators Mega which worked for my (US) sized 10 EE feet. They are mtb style but I use them on both the AT bike and the road bike. I am quite happy with them. -paul |

I don't know how people with big feet can get into Shimano shoes, but I suppose they must sell them to someone. I used to like Duegis, but I don't know if you can still get them. I have some Specialized shoes that aren't too bad a fit. |

I have some Specialized shoes that aren't too bad a fit. I've got big, wide feet and I get on okay with Shimano shoes. I tend to wear Meindl walking books because they're reasonably wide. I was advised to just buy a size larger than normal in Shimano shoes and that seems to have worked out for me. FWIW I'm using MT30s in size 47. I'd quite like the cleat to be a little further forward than I can get it but that's a minor complaint. Chris -- Chris Eilbeck |

I'm size 45 for any other shoe, but I need size 47 shimano shoes to fit, and they are firmly snug in both length and width. Also for jerseys and shorts, I'm everything from L to XXL depending on brand! Problem I have is with ski equipment, especially boots, where exact fit is a crucial part of their use. Given the 4 hours I spent for fitting last time, my feet are obviously wider than the average skier, but not wide enough to need special cycling shoes. And one foot is about 3mm wider than the other, which is noticable only when skiing. -- AndyM. |

I've got size 11 feet, but all my football boots are size 12. Shimano shoes fit me perfectly if I go up to size 12, as do Puma football boots. Most get too wide when I go a size up. |
