datakoll,

As a fair skinned person I have started wearing Sun Sleeves on my arms.
What a difference after the ride. With sleeves on the sun is off my arms
they feel a lot cooler while riding...

Now I need a taller collar, or protector for my neck. I think the sun is
stronger, the protection layer is thinner and we are receiving more
damaging rays than 20 years ago...

I'm not sure if it's stronger UV or thinner skin in my case. Being over 55 will do that to you.

look into polyester T shirts and long sleeve crew. I bought a batch from Champion online. there's a sale.A mix of 90 poly and 10 cotton swings with cool and warm.
I been wearing a ski mask rolled into a watch cap or as a nutcap/beret with hairline covered. My hair is relativey intact. Poly ski masks. Have hand covers for kayaking...essential.

fishing guides on Florida Bay cover completely, wear green googles with mirror coating.

carry a chapstick. buy 10. distribute. one always handy.

prob is windspeed. dries the outer skin layer. removes protection.
