Why is it titled "1965 hailstorm" ? Dear Andrew, The title honors the previous 1,964 photos and videos taken on that camera. YouTube just grabbed the filename that I clicked on and started uploading. I should temper that comment with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicada These obstructions were common where I grew up on the east coast and were NOT referred to as "locusts" there. DR |

Late this morning, a goddamned full-grown cougar ran across the highway in front of me, just outside the city limits. It should be no surprise that an apex-level predator should finally come along to take advantage of the buffet you've long chronicled in this thread. With all the poultry, reptiles, mutton, venison, rodentia (spiny and succulents) and whatnots that've apparently overrun greater Pueblo (is there a lesser Pueblo?), you should be up to your eyelashes in wolves, cougars, bears, lawn crocodiles and any other beasties looking for an easy meal. I'm tempted to get a helmet camera. Fogel Labs should be good for it. Think of the testing applications. ------------------------------- John Dacey Business Cycles, Miami, Florida Since 1983 Comprehensive catalogue of track equipment: online since 1996 http://businesscycles.com ------------------------------- |

A damp and irritable 3-foot obstruction caught my eye off to the side of the road, coiled up during the thunderstorms that invariably accompany the Colorado State Fair. Hey, how would you like to be gently prodded with a handy stick? You'd stick up your ol' beady-eyed head and hiss and rattle too! :-P Yesterday I barely managed to avoid what I think was a Santa Cruz garter snake[1] stretched out across nearly the entire width of a singletrack on Mori Point. I just got around him on the edge of the trail, but it was close! [1] http://www.californiaherps.com/snake...a.atratus.html -- Gregory S. Sutter "How do I read this file?"
